Internship
Responsibilities
Help launch OffWeGo by conducting user experience testing with groups of students
Recruiting for and coordinating user research studies, including creating recruiting plans, posting ads, phone screening candidates, scheduling sessions, and coordinating incentive payments.
Assisting with research analysis, including shadowing user research sessions, note taking, and editing.
Providing on-site support for client workshops including setup and facilitation assistance
Supporting research project efforts, including peer reviewing plans and deliverables and assisting with projects as needed.
Planning and coordinating user research projects
Additional project tasks as needed
Test user experience and give feedback on products under development
Contribute to test plan development and revisions
Monitor, measure, and recommend software improvements where needed
Requirements
Passion for off-campus studies/study abroad
Desire to study abroad or experience studying abroad
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs/Slides/Sheets)
Self-motivated
Committed to dedicating minimum of 10-15 hours a week on projects
Creative and comfortable taking creative liberty in the formatting process
We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate confidence, self-sufficiency, competency in conducting independent research and analysis.
A keen interest in higher education and ed-tech
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understand the fundamentals of user-centered design
Preferred
Experience studying abroad preferred but not required
Involved in campus community
By the end of the internship The Intern will:
Gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience with a start-up in Washington DC
Experience the practical challenges of working in a start-up environment
Learn how to leverage their academic strengths and personality, and network to add value OffWeGo
Have a well-rounded view of the pros and cons of working in a start-up environment
Have an understanding of the structure of the industry that OffWeGo is operating in, its competitive landscape, and changing dynamics
Have gained experience working in a start-up environment characterized by fluid job descriptions, changing priorities, flat hierarchies, and high requirements on flexibility and engagement
Have gained experience with the difficulties in managing time and expectations, negotiating tradeoffs, and prioritizing tasks in an ever-changing environment
Be able to reflect on their personal and professional abilities
REMOTE OK -- This is an unpaid position, depending on institution and requirements, college credit can be awarded.
